Mpumalanga man assaulted by 3 suspects pretending to be police officers

Men posing as police officers are said to have threaten a man at his home in Klarinet, stealing cellphones and store keys.

Witbank Police are looking for three suspects who allegedly posed as policemen in Klarinet – a town north of eMalahleni.

According to the police report, the victim (42) was at his home in Grey Heron Street when he heard a knock on the door at around 07:40 on Thursday.

It is said that when he opened the door, he saw three male suspects wearing police vests who threatened him with a firearm.

The suspects assaulted the victim before stealing two cellphones and store keys, and later fled the scene.

The robbery follows a trend in the province, with this incident being the fifth in less than a week.
