Murder at George student residence: Woman arrested
An NMU student has been arrested after a fellow student was fatally stabbed at an off-campus residence.
Conville police arrested a 21-year-old female student in Le Vallia last night following the fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old fellow student at a residence in Mountview Crescent in George.
Both women are students at Nelson Mandela University (NMU) George Campus.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, an altercation between the two preceded the incident. Police arrived at about 19:00 to find the victim with multiple stab wounds. She was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation.
