The suspects were arrested in Tembisa and police found an unlicensed firearm and police reflector jackets in their possession.
Police made a breakthrough after arresting two suspects in connection with the murder of Riaan van Lingen who was reported missing on Monday.
Van Lingen was reported missing after he had left home for a meeting in Olifantsfontein in Ekurhuleni.
A resident of Wingate Park Golf estate, he was expected to be home by 17:00, however, the tracker on his white double-cab Ford Ranger and his phone were switched off, which got his family worried.
He had last communicated with his family at 13:50, and was last seen in Moreletapark east of Pretoria.

His body was discovered in the Vaal Rand area with gunshot wounds, according to provincial police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi. She said two suspects were arrested in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni, yesterday.
“Through intelligence-driven information, the police arrested one suspect who led them to the second suspect in Tembisa,” Nevhuhulwi said.
She added that a firearm with ammunition, police reflector jackets and a cap were recovered.
“The recovered firearm will be subjected to ballistic testing to confirm if it was used for the crime or any other serious crimes.”
Nevhuhulwi said both suspects are expected to appear in the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court soon.
The suspects are facing charges of murder, kidnapping and hijacking.
