Nine nuns die of Covid-19 at Port Shepstone convent

Three nuns are in hospital and nine more in quarantine.

Nine nuns from the Daughters of Saint Francis in Port Shepstone, Marianhill Diocese have died of Covid-19 related complications in less than two weeks, The South Coast Herald reports.

The first death occurred on December 10 and the latest yesterday (December 21).

According to Sister Dominica Mkhize, three more nuns are in hospital, and nine are in quarantine where their health is being closely monitored.

“We are traumatised,” she said.
