Passer-by discovers woman’s body in open field
Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Barbara-Anne Ferreira says numerous bodies have recently been found in this veld.

A passer-by in Kempton Park, Gauteng, made a shocking discovery on Sunday. He found the body of an unidentified woman in an open veld on the corner of Strydom Street and Pongola River Drive.
According to Sergeant Barbara-Anne Ferreira, the spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, the victim’s body was not covered and no identification was found on or near the body.
“Police were approached by the complainant who informed them he was walking from Esselen Park to his home when he saw the woman’s body lying on the ground, face down,” said Ferreira.
“The woman’s body had a blood stain on her left eye and stab wounds on her face. Paramedics declared the woman dead on the scene and the body was taken to Germiston Pathology Services.”
Ferreira added that the woman’s body was already in a state of decomposition.
“The victim was found wearing a dress with no shoes. It is estimated that she might have died three days before her body was found,” Ferreira said.
“Although not confirmed yet, her age is estimated between 35 and 40. This is not the first female body to be found around the area.
“It is becoming a problem as other female bodies have also been found in that open veld which is a cause for concern.”
Norkem Park SAPS appeals to anyone who might have information regarding the case to contact the police station on 071 675 6803.
