Police find bag with Shahiel Sewpujan’s clothes

A refuse bag containing clothes believed to have belonged to slain child Shahiel Sewpujan (9) has reportedly been found by police in the Charclay area of Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal.

The bag was allegedly disposed at the location to be collected by the waste removal services, Phoenix Sun reported.

Shahiel’s body was found in a manhole this past weekend after he went missing on Thursday.

His body was reportedly found naked with visible injuries and burns.

Meanwhile, the woman arrested for the boy’s murder appeared in the Verulam Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

According to regional National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson, the woman was remanded back into custody until February 17, when her bail hearing will take place.

In another incident, a 23-year-old Zimbabwean national appeared in the Witbank Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for allegedly murdering his six-year-old stepson.

The man reportedly told a relative he had killed the boy, and that he wanted help getting rid of the body and returning to Zimbabwe.

He was arrested on Thursday after the boy’s badly decomposed body was found inside a relative’s shack.
