Pretoria cops, security company arrest 2 sought for house burglaries

A local security company, assisted by police in Sinoville, arrested a duo believed to be involved in several robberies.

Proshield Security Company and the police in Sinoville, Pretoria, recovered a car and arrested two suspects on Thursday.

Proshield K9 and R3 units received a notification of a suspicious vehicle entering Sinoville from The Moot.

The vehicle, a Hyundai Accent, is suspected to have been involved in multiple robberies in December.

According to Proshield, its K9 and R3 searched the area for the car.

“After a short search, [the] K9 Unit spotted the vehicle on Braam Pretorius Street,” said the security company.

Proshield said that while following the vehicle the suspects noticed the unit and attempted to escape.

The vehicle was stopped with the assistance of the Sinoville police.

“Upon further investigation, it came to light that the vehicle was sought for armed robbery in December 2023.”

Upon searching the vehicle the police found a number of tools believed to be used to break into houses, and the suspects wanted for house burglaries and armed robberies.

The suspects were arrested and taken to Sinoville Police Station.
