Protea Magistrate’s Court grants popular traditional healer bail

Gogo Maweni was granted bail after appearing in court for alleged 2019 assault, with the case postponed to next month for docket disclosure.

Well-known traditional healer Makhotso Lee-Anne Mofokeng, popularly known as Gogo Maweni, has been granted R5 000 bail.

Soweto Urban reports Maweni appeared at the Protea Magistrate’s Court earlier today, for her bail application.

She was arrested last Sunday following a tracing operation for alleged assaults with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in 2019. The traditional healer was taken into custody at Mondeor Police Station.

Her first appearance was at the Protea Magistrate’s Court last Monday.

The matter has been postponed to February 11 for the disclosure of the content of the dockets.
