SA Post Office experiences delays due to lockdown
Mail processing has been affected due to the regulations governing social distancing on the sorting floor.

The SA Post Office said they are experiencing delays with mail processing due to level 3 regulations.
According to the national mailing service, mail processing does not take place at the normal rate under the current regulations, leading to delays particularly in international items.
Owing to regulations governing social distancing on the sorting floor, only a third of the workforce can be present at the same time at several of the Post Offices mail processing facilities.
“Transport to and from other countries is irregular at this time with no regular scheduled flights, which has a knock-on effect on mail leaving the country. Although mail processing is not optimal, customers are assured that their items are not lost and will be delivered.
“The Post Office apologises for the inconvenience and would like to thank its customers for their patience and understanding during these difficult times,” SAPO said in a statement.
From today 3 until 8 July Post Office branches are not able to pay out the R350 Covid relief. That is to give our elders and mothers an opportunity to get their SASSA grant. Thank you for understanding! pic.twitter.com/E75GJzozy8
