SA veteran actress, Elize Cawood has died

“She was in no pain when she passed and both me and my father were there with her.”

South African veteran actress, Elize Cawood has died after a battle with lung cancer. She fought it since last year September.

Cawood died on Saturday morning around 09:19, her daughter Jenna Dunster posted on Facebook.

“She was diagnosed with lung cancer in September and fought gracefully until the end,” Dunster said.

“She was in no pain when she passed and both me and my father were there with her.”

Cawood was known for her roles in several South African movies like Liefling, Dis ek, Anna, Die Wonderwerker, and theatre productions.

“Our worlds will never be the same without her – but we celebrate the exquisite human being that she was,” Dunster said.

She thanked everyone for their love and support.

“We truly appreciate it, but we would like some privacy during this time. Much love from my dad, Wilson Dunster and me,” she concluded.

Messages of condolences are streaming in on Facebook to the Dunster family and friends. Many people have described Cawood as an extraordinary person, who was loved by many and who had a beautiful heart.
