Sassa releases social grant payment dates for December 2020 and January 2021
The early December 2020 payments should not be construed as a bonus or double payment as it is mainly intended for convenience of beneficiaries and protecting them from the festive season rush.
The South African Social Security Agency in KwaZulu-Natal (Sassa KZN) wishes to inform all social grant beneficiaries about the payment cycle for December 2020 and January 2021.
Social grant payments for December 2020 will commence from December 1 for old age pension (including linked grants), from December 2 for disability grants (including linked grants) and from December 3 for child support, foster child and care dependency grants.
Payment at Sassa pay points will start from December 4, 2020. January 2021 social grants will be available from January 4 for old age pension, January 5 for disability grants and January 6 for child support, foster child and care dependency grants.

Social grant beneficiaries are reminded to be vigilant, keep their Sassa payment cards and pins safe and not to share them with anyone. They should also desist from giving strangers or loan sharks their identity documents even if they purport to be from Sassa.

We would like to wish all social grant beneficiaries and their families good health, a peaceful festive season and a prosperous New Year. Let us continue to wear masks and wash our hands to curb the spread of Covid-19,” said regional executive manager for KZN, Themba Matlou.
