Severe weather forecast for parts of KZN

Localised flooding and damage to infrastructure expected.

Zululanders are urged to prepare themselves for severe thunderstorms in parts of KZN this afternoon (November 22), following a warning from the South African Weather Service (SAWS).

According to SAWS, heavy downpours accompanied by strong damaging winds and possibly hail will take place in the western and southern areas of the province.

Durban, Riverview, Pietermaritzburg, Ladysmith, Mooi River, Kokstad, Underberg, Newcastle, Margate, Richards Bay and Ixopo are said to be affected.

Vehicle and infrastructure damages, human injuries and localised flooding is expected, as a result from hail and lightning.

For the rest of the week, the weather is expected to be dominated by showers and thunderstorms, so communities are advised to be careful.
