Sharks forward completes Premiership move

A former Junior Springbok who has made 83 first-class appearances for the Sharks, has signed a short-term contract with Manchester-based Sale Sharks.

An experienced member of the Sharks pack has moved to England on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

According to RugbyPass, veteran lock Hyron Andrews has signed a short-term contract with Manchester-based Sale Sharks.

The 28-year-old has played just four games this season – all of them as a substitute – and made his return from a red card and suspension against the Stormers in Durban last Saturday.

Andrews received his first sending-off for a dangerous clean-out as the Sharks suffered a historic defeat in Parma to Zebre, which ended an 18-month wait for a win last November.

The former Junior Springbok has made 83 first-class appearances for the Sharks, but has struggled for consistency this season.

According to the report, Sale has signed Andrews as cover for England lock Johnny Hill, who suffered a season-ending injury.

Andrews will pave the way for current Sharks teammate Le Roux Roets to complete a permanent move to Sale next season.
