Shooter guns down two foreign shop owners in eMbalenhle

The motive for the killing of two shop owners in Mpumalanga is not clear as nothing was stolen from the shop.

Two foreign nationals who owned a hardware store in eMbalenhle near Secunda in Mpumalanga were gunned down yesterday afternoon.

Constable Busisiwe Mthethwa, eMbalenhle police’s communication officer, said the two shopkeepers were at their hardware store when a black motor vehicle stopped at the shop.

Shots were fired from the vehicle, killing the shopkeepers. The car then sped off.

The two were certified dead at the scene.

According to Mthethwa, the motive for the killing is still not clear because nothing was stolen from the shop.
