A six-year-old from Ntshawini near Stanger tragically lost his life while his four-year-old brother sustained injuries after being electrocuted while they were watering the garden at their home.

According to KwaDukuza police spokesperson, constable Siphesihle Myeni, the older boy succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital, while his younger brother also received medical care.

The circumstances surrounding the electrocution are not yet clear, but preliminary information suggests the garden area that was watered is in close proximity to an electric pole.
