South African actress Crystal-Donna Roberts passes away
Fans and colleagues are mourning the loss of Crystal-Donna Roberts after she passed away at 41 after a battle with cancer.
Well-known actress Crystal-Donna Roberts has passed away at the age of 41 after a battle with cancer.
Roberts, known for her roles in 7de Laan, Krotoa, Die Byl, Fynskrif and Arendsvlei among others, completed her secondary education at Eunice High School in Bloemfontein and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Drama and Theatre from the University of the Free State.
Her husband, Schalk Cornelissen, confirmed her passing on his Facebook page this morning, noting: “RIP my beautiful beautiful loving wife,” alongside a picture of her.
Tributes and condolences have begun pouring in on social media.
Eunice High School posted on its Facebook page that Roberts was part of the school’s class of 2002.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this very difficult time.”
The Jakes Gerwel Foundation said in an Instagram post Roberts was not only an excellent actress, but also a talented writer.
“She was a special part of the Jakes Gerwel Foundation’s writers family, and we will never forget her.”
