Stage 2 load-shedding to continue until this afternoon
A loss of generating capacity necessitated the implementation of rolling power cuts throughout the day.

Eskom opted to implement stage 2 load-shedding at 07:00, after there were delays in returning some generating units to service.
The power utility’s spokesperson, Daphne Mokwena, says this stage of power cuts will continue until 16:00.
Thereafter, load-shedding will be escalated to stage 3 for the peak period – until midnight.
Mokwena says a detailed update of planned power cuts for the rest of the week will be announced later today.
