The struggling power utility will on Wednesday at 9 am ramp up from stage two to four owing to a shortage of power following unplanned breakdowns at Koeberg on Tuesday, North Coast Courier reports.
“Koeberg unit one was disconnected from the grid due to a fault on the turbine section – the nuclear reactor remains safe.”
However, the seawater circulating pump was damaged and Eskom suspects it will take several days to have the unit repaired and brought back into service.
