Suspect arrested in connection with double murder in Ermelo
A complaint of a house robbery turned into a gruesome murder scene - with the deceased and injured reportedly attacked with an axe.

A 29-year-old man will soon appear in court after he was nabbed yesterday in connection with a double murder, attempted murder, house robbery, and theft of a motor vehicle in Ermelo, Mpumalanga.
According to Captain Carla Prinsloo, the spokesperson for Ermelo police, they received a complaint of a house robbery in Sluiter Street.
Upon arrival police found two people, a 59-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, deceased. The 25-year-old son of the deceased and his 20-year-old girlfriend were found injured on the scene.
It is suspected that they were all attacked with an axe and the suspect is said to have fled the scene in a white Volkswagen Polo belonging to one of the victims.
Prinsloo says the suspect fled in the direction of Amsterdam.
“Approximately 10km outside Ermelo he was involved in an accident with another vehicle,” Prinsloo adds.
Ermelo Police who were on the lookout for the stolen vehicle arrested the suspect at the scene of the accident.
