Taxi owner killed in KZN

Police are investigating the murder of a man in Bhobhoyi who was shot multiple times while sitting in his vehicle.

A well-known taxi owner from Bhobhoyi, Mavuka ‘Majimbos’ Khowa, was shot dead at his home yesterday at about 19:00, reports the South Coast Herald.

According to police, a case of murder has been opened for investigation after a 53-year-old man was fatally shot.
“It is alleged that the victim (Khowa) was sitting in his vehicle outside his residence when he was shot several times by an unknown person who then fled on foot,” said police in a statement.

It is suspected that a white vehicle was used as a getaway vehicle.

Khowa was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but had succumbed to his injuries.

He was the founder of Umdlalo Wamanzi, an annual taxi event held at Ugu Sport and Leisure Centre.
