Teen dies after being stabbed at high school in Middelburg

A Grade 11 learner has died after being fatally stabbed, allegedly by another learner at LD Moetanalo High School.

A learner died after being stabbed during an incident involving two learners at LD Moetanalo High School in Mhluzi, reports the Middelburg Observer.

Colonel Jabu Ndubane, the spokesperson for the Mpumalanga SAPS, confirmed the incident occurred earlier today.

According to Ndubane, a Grade 11 learner was fatally stabbed, allegedly by a Grade 10 learner, and died at the scene. The circumstances leading to the incident are not yet clear, and the police remain on the scene conducting investigations.

The newspaper spoke to school principal PT Mokone who confirmed the incident but said he was unable to comment further at this stage.

The newspaper also contacted the Mpumalanga Department of Education, which indicated that it was not yet aware of the incident and would provide comment after conducting its own investigations.
