Teenager in critical condition following stabbing at KZN school

A secondary school learner was stabbed multiple times, allegedly by another learner who attempted to steal his cellphone.

A teenage boy (17) is in critical condition after being stabbed at a secondary school in Merebank, KZN, this morning.

The learner was brutally attacked, resulting in him being stabbed several times.

According to PT Alarms, the learner sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest and back after he was accosted, allegedly by a fellow learner who attempted to steal his cellphone.

Garrith Jamieson, ALS Paramedics’ spokesperson, says the victim was in a critical condition when paramedics arrived on the scene.

“Paramedics worked to stabilise the learner before he was rushed off to the nearest hospital,” he adds.

Jamieson says security personnel and the Wentworth police responded promptly to the incident and are investigating the events that led to the stabbing.
