Teenager raped in West Rand farm attack

A 55-year-old man and his 17-year-old daughter were the latest victims of an attack on a farm near Westonaria.

Five suspects are wanted for house robbery, attempted murder and rape after they attacked a man and his daughter on their farm near Westonaria on Monday, 20 May, Randfontein Herald reports.

Warrant Officer Peter Masooa, the West Rand District Police spokesperson confirmed that the Krugersdorp Trio Task Team is investigating the incident that occurred on the farm Leeudoringkloof at about 5.30am.

“The 55-year-old victim and his 17-year-old daughter were on their way to her school when they were accosted by five men who forced them into the house. It is not clear whether the attackers were armed, but they stole firearms from the house and a Ford Ranger.

“The man was hit on the head with an object and the daughter was raped. The victims were later taken to hospital for treatment,” he said.

He added that the bakkie was later recovered in the Senzele informal settlement.

The police are appealing to anyone with information relating to the attack to contact the Westonaria Police on 011 2785321 or the 24-hour crime reporting call centre on 10111.
