The 7 unbeaten teams in Europe’s top 5 leagues
Which of these sides' unbeaten run in their respective leagues will come to an end next?
Only Arsenal (2003/04) and Juventus (2011/12) have had unbeaten seasons in Europe’s major leagues this century. Liverpool, Manchester City, and Inter have all recently suffered losses, therefore destroying their aspirations of staying undefeated this season.
It does, however, raise the issue of whether we will see an unbeatable squad in the 2023/24 season.
Here are seven clubs who have been unbeaten so far this season:

Arsenal (Premier League)
Arsenal, led by Mikel Arteta, seems to be ready to rebound. Despite a few hiccups, such as allowing leads to slip in home draws against Fulham and Tottenham, they have won six of their nine games.

Arsenal’s lone obstacle to clinching first place in the Premier League rankings is their goal difference. However, their recent 2-2 draw at Chelsea and win over Manchester City is notable, given that they had previously lost 12 in Premier League games to Pep Guardiola’s tough club.
Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League)
They’ve been a delight to watch, collecting 20 points from a possible 27 and remaining undefeated following a 2-0 win against Fulham. It’s fairly incredible, especially considering they’ve faced difficult opponents like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool.
⚪️🇦🇺 Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou has now accumulated the most points by a Premier League manager in their first 9 games.

What’s more, their style of play is a radical contrast from the bland and uninteresting football offered up by past Australian coaches.
Barcelona (La Liga)

In a remarkable change of events, the defending champions were on the verge of suffering their first La Liga defeat of the season. With Granada leading by two goals, the situation appeared bleak. But, by halftime, Joao Felix had stepped up to assist Lamine Yamal’s rapid-fire goal. Sergi Roberto’s subsequent goal put them ahead, securing an unbelievable 2-2 draw.
Their most recent home victory against Athletic Club put them in the top four of the league rankings, but it wasn’t enough to keep them top when Real Madrid ended their winning run with a 1-1 draw against Sevilla to recover the top spot.
Barcelona had been mediocre in their early 2023/24 season matches, but the signings of the two Joaos on deadline day made an instant influence on the team’s play.
Nonetheless, despite their remarkable run, they presently trail league leaders Real Madrid by one point.
Bayern Munich (Bundesliga)
Bayern Munich remains unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season, having not suffered a single loss. Harry Kane made an impressive start in Germany. He has already made an impact, contributing to five goals (three goals and two assists) in a strong 7-0 win against Bochum. Their recent 3-1 win over Mainz extended their winning streak, putting them third in the table, two points behind Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen (Bundesliga)
Last season, Borussia Dortmund had a tremendous chance to win the Bundesliga title ahead of a mediocre Bayern Munich club. We’re now hopeful that Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen might emerge as serious title challengers this season, and early indications are promising.

Leverkusen appears to have what it takes to be successful. Alonso has all the skills to become Europe’s next great coach, while Nigerian striker Victor Boniface looks to be on track for a breakout season similar of Victor Osimhen’s.

Leverkusen has remained undefeated in the Bundesliga, winning seven of eight games, including a 2-1 victory away from home against Wolfsburg. After eight rounds of matches, they presently sit atop the league table, two points ahead of the perennial champions.
Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga)
We had to double-check this because Dortmund appears to have been underwhelming thus far in the 2023/24 season. Their performances have been mediocre, as seen by their Champions League defeat to PSG, and they have missed points in draws against lesser-known clubs like Bochum and Heidenheim.
Despite their difficulties, Dortmund has remained unblemished in the league. They returned from the international break with five straight league wins over Freiburg, Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim, Union Berlin, and Werder Bremen. Surprisingly, they are presently tied with Bayern in terms of points (20 pts).

Although we don’t expect Dortmund to fight for the championship, especially after losing Jude Bellingham, they should attempt to qualify for the Champions League at the very least.
Nice (Ligue 1)
Nice has defeated both Monaco and PSG, the reigning champions. The Sir Jim Ratcliffe-backed team lost Premier League misfits Kasper Schmeichel, Aaron Ramsey, Ross Barkley, and Nicolas Pepe this summer, but they look to be better for it.
Les Aiglons are second in Ligue 1 (above Monaco) after starting the season with five victories and four draws. Francesco Farioli, their manager, is only 34 years old and one to watch.
