Three arrested following business robbery in Pretoria
Police recovered two firearms with eight live rounds when arresting three men following a business robbery in Pretoria.
The unidentified men had allegedly stolen a BMW during a business robbery in Wonderboom, Pretoria on Thursday, Benoni City Timesreported.
Police spokesman Captain Mack Mngomezulu said the car was fitted with a tracker when members of the Pretoria police Dog Unit and the tracker company followed up the signal.
It was alleged the car had been spotted parked at the intersection of Snake Road and Heron Street, with three occupants.
Mngomezulu said that, upon noticing the police, one of the suspects jumped out and ran away, but a police dog was set on him.
He was caught and arrested along with his accomplices, added Mngomezulu.
The men, aged 27, 37 and 42, were detained at the Benoni SAPS and are expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court soon.
On Tuesday, Four men were arrested after they robbed a Pep store at a shopping complex in Soshanguve, near Pretoria.
It was alleged an off-duty police officer witnessed the robbery and called for back-up. A police chase ensued and the suspected robbers were arrested.
The suspects reportedly fled with an undisclosed amount of money and about 300 cell phones.
