Three injured in ‘road rage’ incident
A BMW X5 driver has been accused of causing an accident in Kempton Park in a suspected road rage incident that resulted in three people sustaining injuries.
The X5 driver allegedly drove a Hyundai Accent off the R21 North, near Olifantsfontein, in anger, before driving back on to the road, Kempton Express reported.
According to emergency services Emer-G-Med, the Hyundai then rolled and hit a Chevy.
One patient was transported to hospital with a suspected broken foot, while two other patients were taken to hospital by family members.
Investigations are ongoing.
Road rage aside, incidents of “parking rage” continue to be reported.
Last week, former junior school tennis coach Talana-Jo Huysamer (23) appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court after an incident in which she allegedly used the K-word and attempted to shock a woman with a taser device during an altercation over a parking space, Cape Timesreported.
Chantlé Hoffmann (42) had been looking for a parking space in Harfield Village, Cape Town, on January3 , according to the report.
Huysamer then drove into the road and stopped opposite the parking bay Hoffmann was about to use. During the altercation that ensued, Huysamer allegedly used the K-word at least five times and tried to taser Hoffmann in the face.
In November, video footage spread on social media, indicating that parking rage may be a prevalent issue.
In the video, motorists in the Rio Mar Recife shopping centre parking garage in Brazil are seen arguing over a parking space.
