Thunderstorms dry up as warm, sunny conditions return this weekend

No further rainfall predicted for Gauteng in the afternoon going into the weekend.

After severe thunderstorms rattled Gauteng this week, SA Weather Service says sunny and warm conditions will return this weekend.

No further rainfall was expected in Gauteng from Friday afternoon, said SA Weather Service forecaster Lulama Pheme.

“Some parts will experience isolated thunderstorms throughout the morning. No further rainfall is predicted in the afternoon going into the weekend,” he said.

Pheme said partly cloudy conditions were expected on Friday, with a maximum of 26°C in Pretoria.

“For Saturday, temperatures will shoot to 32°C,” he said.

“Expect sunny conditions throughout the day. On Sunday, we will see a slight cooling with a minimum of 14°C and a maximum of 29°C for Pretoria.”
