Time to renew post boxes, says South African Post Office

Don’t forget to renew your post boxes and private bags! That’s the reminder from the Post Office to residents who have post box and private bag addresses, Berea Mail reports.

Renewals can be made at any post office or online.

The cost of renewal is R535 for the year. Pensioners can rent a post box for a full year at a special discounted rate of R340.

Payment is due by 31 December, after which the Post Office will start locking post boxes. Penalties will be charged for late payments.

Postboxes are readily available and safe, offer excellent security for mail items and are particularly useful to companies and individuals who receive important or sensitive items in the mail.
