Tragic death of 3-year-old at Bloemfontein mall
The City of Roses is mourning the loss of a 3-year-old boy this morning after he fell from the M3 level at the Waterfront Loch Logan Mall’s parking garage on Sunday (August 1).
According to the marketing manager at the Loch Logan Waterfront, Meryl Henning, the boy ran up two floors from where his parents were in the parking area, climbed the wall and railing overlooking First Avenue, from where he unfortunately fell to the ground.
She explained that the parents, who were busy paying their parking ticket at the time, noticed their son was missing and the father and sister alerted security guards.
According to police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, the family met a security officer who informed them that their child had fallen to the ground. “The family then rushed to the spot where the child’s lifeless body was lying.”
Henning confirmed that he was declared deceased by paramedics called to the scene.
Makhele said the incident took place around 14:30 in the afternoon on Sunday August 1.
Meanwhile the mall management have expressed their sincerest condolences to the family of the little boy who lost his life in the tragic accident.
