Two life sentences for Precious Ramabulana’s killer
Aubrey Manaka, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced in the Limpopo High Court Polokwane Division today (June 11).
Aubrey Manaka (28) has been sentenced to two life sentences, plus 23 years for the murder of Capricorn TVET College student, Precious Ramabulana (21).
Manaka was sentenced in the Limpopo High Court Polokwane Division today (June 11), where Judge Justice Maake Kganyago referred to him as “an evil person with no soul.”
Manaka was found guilty of murder, rape, robbery and housebreaking with intent to commit an offence after Ramabulana was found stabbed to death in her room in an off-campus residence in Mokomene on November 24, 2019.
The Director of Public Prosecutions’ regional spokesperson, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, says Manaka’s sentences will run concurrently.
“The NPA welcomes this sentence and we hope it will serve as a deterrent to other rapists and murderers who intend of violating the vulnerable. We believe it is the interest of justice and we hope the family will find closure in knowing that an appropriate sentence has been given,” she said.
