Two suicides in Pretoria
Two people from Pretoria have committed suicide only a few hours apart from each other.
In the latest incident, a woman believed to be in her late 30s, shot herself in her Olympus home, east of Pretoria, on Wednesday afternoon, Rekord East reported.
Advanced Paramedic Assist (APA) spokesperson Werner van Rooyen said the woman had been found by her mother in a room
around 3pm after the mother had heard a gunshot.
Paramedics had rushed to the scene, but they had found the woman already dead, said Van Rooyen.
A few hours earlier, a 24-year-old man apparently hanged himself in the bathroom of a house in Magalieskruin, north of Pretoria.
Paramedics rushed to the scene at about 12.15pm and declared him dead on arrival.
In a separate incident, murder case and inquest dockets were opened by Parkview police after a murder-suicide at the station early this month.
A man identified as 47-year-old Gabriel da Silva had allegedly shot and killed his wife, 45-year-oldLana Pereira Marques, before turning the gun on himself, police said.
