Vehicle ploughs into pedestrians, killing 2 in KZN
The driver of a vehicle that crashed into five pedestrians was arrested at the accident scene.
Two people died and three were injured when a car crashed into pedestrians in Isithebe in Mandeni, KZN, earlier today.
According to IPSS Security operations manager Phumlani Vezi, the accident happened near the Ikhwezi Supermarket.
The car was travelling from Mandeni to Isithebe when it lost control and hit five pedestrians.
Two of them, a 28-year-old male and a 23-year-old female, were pronounced dead at the scene.
One woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition, while a male and a female suffered injuries but were stable.
The driver was arrested at the scene and the police are investigating the cause of the accident.
1 dies in head-on collision
In another accident, a man died in a head-on collision on the R102 near the KwaDukuza Police Station last night.
The driver of the second vehicle was injured and trapped inside the wreckage, requiring assistance from the Kwadukuza Fire Department to extricate him.
