Video: 4 shot dead in suspected ambush outside Ladysmith
Gunmen opened fire on a vehicle near Ezakheni Plaza, killing four occupants before fleeing the scene.
Four people have reportedly been shot dead in a vehicle near Ezakheni Plaza outside Ladysmith, in what appears to be a targeted ambush.
The Witness states that, according to local reports, the victims were travelling in a car when gunmen opened fire, leaving the vehicle riddled with bullets before it veered off the road and came to a stop about 100m into a nearby veld.
Attack continued after vehicle stopped
The attackers are said to have continued firing at the vehicle after it left the roadway, with the victims believed to have been found either inside the car or lying nearby.
Police have not yet confirmed the incident.
However, in a video posted on Ladysmith Gazette‘s Facebook page, police and forensic teams are seen combing the scene and marking what appear to be spent cartridges scattered across the road.
The motive for the shooting and the circumstances leading up to the attack remain unclear.
