VIDEO: Women caught stealing baby formula

CCTV video footage shows three women stealing baby formula from an OK grocery store in Middelburg, Mpumalanga.

The video shows three women, all with large handbags, entering the store on Tuesday before heading to the baby food aisle with their backs to the camera, Middelburg Observer reported.

Once in the aisle, they are then seen loading about nine tins of formula into their trolleys before proceeding to a different aisle.

The women are then seen taking the formula from their trolleys and hiding it in their handbags.

They then reportedly left the shop without buying anything and drove off in a white Opel Corsa with Gauteng number plates.

Leon Prinsloo, manager of the OK, said it was the third time an incident like this had happened.

“They are definitely doing the same thing at other shops,” he said.

The woman reportedly made off with goods worth thousands of Rands, as each tin is said to cost about R230.

Earlier this month, a video showing two women committing a robbery at a Johannesburg doctors’ office emerged.

One woman is seen distracting receptionists while the other sneaks into the offices unnoticed and returns with a laptop, which she places in her bag.

It is believed the robbery took place in the Johannesburg South area.
