Videos: 3 injured in Durban cash-in-transit vehicle bombing
Police are investigating after an armoured vehicle was blown up in the township of KwaMashu.
Three people were taken to hospital this morning after an armoured cash-in-transit (CIT) vehicle was blown up on Malendela Road in KwaMashu, Durban.
Kyle van Reenen, the spokesperson for Emer-G-Med, says they responded to the incident just after 06:00.
On arrival on the scene, Van Reenen explains an armoured vehicle was found to have been blown up and was engulfed in flames.
“Three people were treated for moderate injuries and taken by ambulances to nearby hospitals for further medical care.”
He says the police were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly.
The incident comes a day after a security guard was killed during a CIT heist in the south of Durban.
