Watch: De Kock and Brevis deliver in MLC, Faf flops again

South African cricketers Quinton de Kock and Dewald Brevis shined, while Faf du Plessis' struggles continued in the US competition.

Quinton de Kock starred as the Seattle Orcas booked their place in the Major League Cricket (MLC) final with a nine-wicket win against the Texas Super Kings yesterday.

The Proteas wicketkeeper-batsman hit an unbeaten 88 off 50 balls (10 fours, four sixes) as Seattle reached their target of 127 with five overs remaining in the first play-off qualifier.

Earlier, Texas were restricted to 126-9 with Faf du Plessis (five off eight balls) and David Miller (16 off 17) both going cheaply.

Du Plessis has scored just 40 runs in six matches in the inaugural MLC at an average of 6.66, with Miller contributing 126 at an average of 21.

Seattle will face the winner of the second qualifier play-off, between Texas and MI New York (being played today), in Monday’s final.

MI New York beat the Washington Freedom by 16 runs in yesterday’s eliminator play-off, with Dewald Brevis hitting 57 off 41 balls (four fours, three sixes).
