Watch: Dramatic video shows motorcycle syndicate take-down in Middelburg
Footage shows the chase and arrests of two suspects believed to be part of a prolific motorcycle theft syndicate operating in Joburg and Middelburg.

Alleged members of a motorcycle theft syndicate, who has been on the radar of a security company for more than two years, was taken down in Middelburg last weekend with several stolen bikes recovered.
Legendary Guardians Exclusive Protection (LGEP) owner, Clinton Festraets, says the syndicate used to operate in the East Rand of Johannesburg, but recently relocated to Middelburg where several motorcycle thefts have been reported in the past couple of weeks.
On Friday, the East Rand based security company received a call from an informant about the syndicate’s movements in the Mpumalanga town.
A drone was sent up over Avalon, Mhluzi where a trailer was spotted outside a shack.
On closer inspection a single suspect was found inside the shack alongside a super bike, off-road bike and quad-bike, which were stolen from a garage in Blesbok Street in Kanonkop earlier the same day.
On Sunday, a white bakkie transporting a motorcycle was spotted on the N11.
LGEP members followed the bakkie to Avalon where another two men, also tied to the syndicate, were arrested.
The bike on the bakkie was traced to a farm outside Middelburg on the N11.
“I have to commend the K9 members,” Festraets says, adding, “We don’t see that calibre of policing in our area, Middelburg residents are very lucky to have such amazing, dedicated officers behind them.”
LGEP is busy preparing to present the K9 members with honorary awards “for outstanding service, they’re absolutely amazing”.
Agmar Macamo, Jose Mondlane and Ronaldo Mahlala have all appeared in court on charges of motorcycle theft and possession of stolen property this week.
All three will remain in custody until their formal bail application on December 6.
