Watch: Duane Vermeulen doing it for his dad

One of South Africa's biggest rugby starts recently opened up about how his father inspired him to aim for greatness on the field.

Springbok star Duane Vermeulen opens up on losing his father at a young age, and how it inspired him to become one of the best No 8s in the world.

Vermeulen played a pivotal role for the Boks in winning the 2019 World Cup, and the battle-hardened veteran has been a renewed force in the Bok back row this year to help defend South Africa’s status as world champions.

But, speaking in the latest episode of the SA Rugby series, ‘How rugby changed my life’, the 37-year-old shares his journey to the top echelons of the sport, after being a late Test bloomer and missing out on national selection at junior level.
