Watch: Fire erupts at popular Kruger National Park rest camp

Park rangers and staff members are working to contain a fire at Lower Sabie Rest Camp.

Kruger National Park authorities have responded to a fire that broke out at the Lower Sabie shop in the early hours of this morning, reports Lowvelder.

According to SANParks spokesperson JP Louw, the cause of the fire is unknown at this stage. Ranger teams and other staff members are currently on the ground working to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.

The Citizen reports that the restaurant and reception area are affected by the fire.
