WATCH: Flooding in parts of Limpopo, SAWS warns of further downpours

A level 6 weather warning was issued for the north and north-east parts of the province on Monday morning.

Heavy rains have once again led to flooding in parts of the Vhembe district, a district which is still recovering from recent flooding. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) on Monday morning issued an orange (Level 6) weather warning for the northern and north-eastern parts of Limpopo.

The service said that residents in the affected areas can expect heavy rainfall, localised flooding of formal and informal roads or settlements, low-lying areas and bridges and difficult driving conditions.

They also advised parents to keep the school children at home until it is safe to move around.

Some areas have already reported flooding and damage to municipal infrastructure.

In Musina, over 200mm rain fell in under three hours which has led to the flooding of several roads, including the road to  Tsiphise.
