Watch: Klaasen hammers historic MLC hundred

Proteas and Seattle Orcas batsman Heinrich Klaasen became the first person to hit 100 runs in a Major League Cricket match.

Heinrich Klaasen scored the first century in Major League Cricket in the Seattle Orcas’ two-wicket win against MI New York yesterday.

The Proteas batsman hit an unbeaten 110 off 44 balls (nine fours, seven sixes) as Seattle reached their target of 195 with four balls remaining.

Quinton de Kock made just nine for the Orcas at the top of the order after being trapped LBW by spinner Rashid Khan.

The win sees Seattle finish top of the log after the league stage of the inaugural tournament.

They will face Faf du Plessis’ Texas Super Kings in the first play-off qualifier on Friday, with the Washington Freedom and MI New York meeting in tomorrow’s eliminator.
