Here is how you can watch the State of the Nation Address that takes place tonight before a joint sitting of the two Houses of Parliament at 19:00 at the Cape Town City Hall.
President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address (Sona) tonight will be the first to be delivered under the seventh administration’s Government of National Unity (GNU), following the outcome of the May 29 elections.
The Sona outlines government’s key plans and programmes for the year ahead, providing the country with a roadmap to chart the way forward. It also presents the chance for the president to reflect on government’s achievements.

Earlier this week, deputy minister in The Presidency Kenny Morolong said this Sona will outline the three priorities and strategic direction of the GNU, which are to ‘drive inclusive growth and job creation; reduce poverty and tackle the high cost of living; and build a capable, ethical and developmental state’.

The Sona will be broadcast on SABC Radio, SABC TV, various other news broadcasting channels and Parliament TV (DStv Channel 408). It will also be streamed on Parliament’s YouTube channel.
