[Watch] Porsche 911 can’t outrun helicopter after clocking 285 km/h

A Porsche 911 driver managed to clock 285 km/h in Spain. Despite the speed capabilities the Stuttgart creation boasts, it wasn’t fast enough to outrun a police helicopter!

Like our national highway speed limit, that of the Spanish Autovía A-6 in El Espinar also restricts drivers to a speed of 120 km/h. That didn’t stop a Porsche 911 driver after clocking 285 km/h on a camera mounted onto the chasing police helicopter.

With footage courtesy of the Dir. Gral. Tráfico Twitter account, we get to see how the chase unfolded where the driver was eventually apprehended. After refusing to pull over after clocking more than double the speed limit but, the 911 was eventually stopped by ground forces when exiting a toll gantry.

Spanish law enforcement can confiscate a driving license for up to four years and even prosecute the perpetrator with jail time if the speed limit is exceeded by 80 km/h which was the case in this scenario.

The base Porsche 911 Carrera boasts 283 kW while the power hungry Turbo S boasts a whopping 478 kW. This means that regardless of which derivative of the iconic model, it can very easily get drivers thrust into the clutches of law enforcement as the driver clocking 285 km/h in Spain found out.
