Watch: Predators indulge in main course at Skukuza’s golf course

Two lions with their catch, an uninvited crocodile, and four scavengers made for a memorable wildlife sighting video opportunity.

A spectacular wildlife sighting unfolded on the green in front of the Skukuza Golf Club’s restaurant last night.

According to Jean Rossouw, the club’s greenkeeper, some members were relaxing on the deck just after 19:00, following a day of golf, enjoying drinks and a hearty evening meal, when two lions caught an impala on the green.

Rossouw stated that the lions began feasting on the impala. After a while, four hyenas appeared and tried to join in.

What happened next stunned the onlookers. An uninvited crocodile emerged from the river onto the green, prompting the lions to make off with the carcass, while the reptile started feasting on some of the scraps.

In the video, the hyenas’ true cheekiness and opportunistic behaviour can be seen as the scavengers bravely attempted to edge closer to the giant crocodile for a bite as well.

A truly wild sighting that proves once again that Skukuza Golf Club is arguably the wildest golf course in the world!
