The results are in and celebrations are underway as Ramaphosa retains the ANC hot seat.

After a hotly contested national ANC election, the party’s elite positions have been announced for the next five years.

 

  • President: Cyril Ramaphosa 2 476 (Zweli Mhkize 1 897)

  • Deputy president: Paul Mashatile 2 178 (Ronald Lamola 315, Oscar Mabuyane 1 858)

  • National chairperson: Gwede Mantashe 2 062 (Stanley Mathabatha 2018, David Masondo 280)

  • Secretary general: Fikile Mbalula 1 692 (Phumulo Masualle 1 590, Mdumiseni Ntuli 1 080)

  • Deputy secretary general: Nomvula Mokonyane 2 195 (Tina Joemat-Pettersson 2 145)

  • Second deputy secretary general: Maropene Ramokgopa 2 373 (Ronalda Nalumango 1 948).

  • Treasurer general: Gwen Ramokgopa 1 809 (Pule Mabe 1 652, Bejani Chauke 590, Mzwandile Masina 281)
