Watch: Superbike lands on car in Pinetown accident

The accident, wherein the rider of a superbike was seriously injured, was recorded on nearby vehicle's dashcam.

A man was seriously injured this morning when his superbike crashed into a car and landed on its roof at the corner of St Johns Avenue and Payne Street in Pinetown.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said paramedics arrived at the scene just after 06:30, shocked to find the superbike still on top of the car.

The rider was lying on the ground a few metres away.

“The rider, a [man] in his 30s had sustained serious injuries and Advanced Life Support paramedics worked to stabilise him on the scene before he was transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required,” said Jamieson.

SAPS and Metro Police were on the scene and are investigating the cause of the crash.
