Water reading leads to discovery of 3 bodies in Vanderbijlpark

Rand Water staff discovered three bodies in a manhole near VUT Isak Steyl Stadium, sparking a police investigation.

Three bodies were discovered in a manhole yesterday along Barrage Road near the VUT Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark.

Sedibeng Ster reports Rand Water staff made the gruesome discovery while taking a water reading.

According to local police, the bodies of three men were found in the manhole. Reports indicate that all the deceased were citizens of Lesotho and were legally in South Africa.

One of the deceased was found with his arms tied behind his back.

Police have launched an investigation into the case.
