Western Cape businessman in court for solar panel fraud
A man accused of fraud for taking deposits for solar panels and not doing the work will again appear in court at the end of the month.
At least two more charges are expected to be added to the charge sheet in the case of a 45-year-old businessman from Mossel Bay, who is being accused of fraud.
The suspect, Andre Boshoff, allegedly took people’s deposits for solar panels without doing the work.
Boshoff appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court yesterday, on charges of fraud of thousands of rands.
Police say the complainants allegedly paid between R39 000 and R85 000 for solar panels.
Members of the public have laid at least seven charges against Boshoff, at various police stations in Mossel Bay.
Bail was granted during his previous court appearance and the case was postponed to January 29 to update the charge sheet.
