What the flying fish? Beer truck loses its load in Krugersdorp

A beer truck carrying Flying Fish lost it's load at the intersection of Chamdor and Albertina Sisulu Roads, Krugersdorp on Tuesday afternoon.

Onlookers gathered at the intersection of Chamdor and Albertina Sisulu Roads on Tuesday afternoon as hundreds of broken bottles of Flying Fish beer were scattered on the tar road.

The truck carrying a load of the beer appeared to have lost it’s load before the intersection. The accident happened before 5pm and just before the heavy afternoon traffic.

The scene was cordoned off while police, Community Policing Forum (CPF) members, Mogale Response Services and others were attending to the scene.

Local police were also directing traffic who started to move slowly to get a view of the spectacle.

While the broken green bottles was strewn across the road, some of the load was still on the truck and seemed to be held in place by a piece of vinyl.

Although emergency services were on scene it did not seem that anyone was injured.

Although some looting took place, police quickly kept more potential looters at bay. A clean-up will be done.
