Woman dies after being thrown from vehicle in Brits
While fleeing, the driver of the vehicle crashed into another vehicle, and then again tried to flee on foot.
Local police spokesperson Constable Ben Moabi says members of the public saw a woman being flung from a bakkie in Robertson Street in Brits at around 06:00 yesterday.
The driver sped off but was spotted by security officers from PPS Security and they gave chase.
“While fleeing from our security officers, he crashed into another vehicle on the Sonop road,” explains Quintin Dunn, the owner of PPS Security.
The driver jumped out and fled but was caught by security officers. He was handed over to the Brits police.
“The deceased woman has not been identified yet and the investigation continues,” Moabi adds.
